Welcome to the Grand Mesa District
The Grand Mesa District proudly serves the youth of Mesa County. The Key Three for the District are Eleanor Anderson (District Executive), Matt Hudson (District Chairman), and Dave Wolfe (District Commissioner). There is also a District Committee made up of numerous volunteers. If you are interested in joining the District Committee please contact Eleanor Anderson at email@example.com.
As a District we offer a full program of support for Scouts and Scouters alike. Some of these activities include:
District Committee Meeting
District Committee Meeting is held the second Tuesday of each month at the Scout Office at 6:30 p.m. Individuals holding a position on the District Committee can be found on the Grand Mesa Contacts tab. If you are interested in joining the District Committee please contact the District Key Three and come to our next meeting.
Roundtable is a meeting for all unit leaders where you can get ideas for your meetings and other activities as well as important information about the Scouting programs and requirements. We are launching a new format for Roundtable in the Grand Mesa District this year. Roundtable will now be held quarterly as a half hour meeting. We will be having Roundtable at the Scout Office (839 Grand Avenue, Grand Junction, CO) the third Thursday of February, May, August, and November in 2015. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. and adjourn around 7:30 p.m. If you are interested in getting involved in Roundtable please contact Eleanor Anderson at 970-243-0346 ext. 2 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
District Activities and Special Events
The District hosts various activities throughout the year such as Klondike Derby, Merit Badge Rally, Cub Scout Day Camp, and many more. These activities are a great opportunity to expand your unit program and get your Scouts involved. The District also holds special events such as a Golf Tournament. Information about Activities and Events can be found on the Events & Activities tab. We highly encourage all individuals planning on attending events to pre-register online as soon as Event Registration becomes available.
All direct contact leaders must be trained for recharter this year. Some online training is available through MyScouting.org. More information on training can be found by going to the Program tab at the top of the page and selecting Training.
