ATV Program

Western Colorado Council ATV Program

Units now have the option to rent up to six Honda 90cc ATV’s for use on weekends now through October 26th. This program is open for registered scouts ages 12 and up. The rental fee is $55.00 per ATV per weekend, Friday – Sunday.

Leaders and Scouts must complete a hands-on training session, The ATV RiderCourse, before renting. This training course need only be completed once. If any rider has prior completion of an approved ATV RiderCourse Safety training class, bring documentation to council office for consideration.

Scouts and Leaders,16 and up, can use their own ATV on outings and for the ATV RiderCourse, as long as the ATV meets age guidelines.

The ATV RiderCourse provides a fast-paced, half-day, hands-on training session which includes pre-ride inspection, starting and stopping, quick turns, hill riding, emergency stopping and swerving and riding over obstacles. You’ll also learn about protective gear, local regulations, places to ride and environmental concerns.

You must wear the proper riding gear at all times during training. Bring the following to the ATV RiderCourse you attend:

Waiver signed by parent.

DOT-compliant motorcycle helmet (limited to six on hand if you cannot provide).

Goggles or face shield (limited to six on hand if you cannot provide).

Over-the-ankle boots.
